How to Raise Money for KVODS

July 28, 2009
Posted to News

As you are aware we are raising funds for KVODS with the specific hope that we can buy Kingston Vale Village Hall. Below are just some of the ways you can help…….

1. Using everyclick as your default search engine – A link has now been added on the KVODS website to enable you to use everyclick quickly. The link is on the left hand side of the page under ‘fundraising’. All you need to do is register as a user, choose Kingston Vale Operatic & Dramatic Society as the charity you would like to support. Once you have registered then log into the website and use it as your default search engine and raise some money!! You can also use the website to raise money from shopping etc..

2. Enter the small charity car draw - KVODS has now been registered with the FSI national small charity car draw. The prize is a Fiat 500 Pop 1.2 Bossa Nova White with Dark Grey cloth and Ivory ambience.  Tickets can either be purchased online via www.everyclick.com/kvods or bought via KVODS committee. Each ticket costs £2. Tickets are available to buy from now until 21st August 2009. The draw will be held on 1st October 2009.

Please note that legally, entrance into the draw is only allowed to those aged 18 & over. This draw is open to everyone so please tell your friends, family, work colleagues etc! You may enter as many times as you want for £2 per time. Tickets will be available to buy at rehearsals or you can request to buy a ticket via email. Please remember you can also buy tickets online via the link above.

3. Collect aluminium cans & foil - please collect aluminium drink cans and clean foil and bring them down to the hall. We can then take these to a local recycling centre and get paid!

4. Collect used printer cartridges – please keep your used printer cartridges and bring them to the hall or alternatively ask a KVODS committee member for a freepost envelope. We will get paid £1 for every cartridge we send.

5. Donate money! – We have now set up a separate account for all money to go towards the hall. Ideally we would like everyone to donate at least £1 and then tell their friends about the cause and ask them to also donate £1 and so on. We have a group on facebook you can join, alternatively please contact secretary@kvods.com and ask for the account details. Any amount of money donated would be greatly appreciated.

6. Attend the Young KVODS fundraising concert! – In January 2010 Young KVODS will be staging a 2 night fundraising concert with all profit going towards the hall appeal. There will be no ticket price as such, instead donations will be requested. The bar will be open and what better way to raise money & support the very talented youth section of the company!

7.  Think of a fundraising idea yourself!! – Above are the plans that KVODS have put into place, this list will keep growing as we undertake more and more research into how to raise money. There will be many more fundraising events including a promise auction in 2010.  We would love for some of you to think of a fundraising event which you would like to organise / take part in! This could be anything from a car boot sale to a sponsored event (run, bike ride, walk, silence etc) to a parachute jump!!! If you do have any ideas then please please contact a member of the committee.
