Wednesday 14th January, 7.45pm to 10pm
New membership auditions for the adult group will take place on the above date. We ask that you sing a verse & chorus of a song of your choice. You can bring the backing music on cd or sing acapella, there will be no pianist at the audition. We will also give you a short piece of dialogue to read. Membership costs £20 per year (£10 for full time students) and needs to be paid on the night. Membership is non-refundable, even if you decide not to take part in the show.
If you are planning to audition for a principal part in the show then you will need to have undertaken a membership audition on the above date.
Wednesday 21st January, 8pm onwards
This date is for all those who wish to be considered for a song / duet in the show. There is no set audition piece; instead you can sing any song of your choice. However try to make the song similar to those in the show i.e either a song from the west end or a 50’s song.
If you would like to take part in the show but do not want to be considered for a solo / duet then you do not need to attend on this date.
Please note that all those wanting to be considered for a solo / duet need to pay their membership fee before or on 21st Jan. You are unable to audition on this date without your membership being paid. Everyone else needs to pay their membership fee by Wednesday 28th Jan.
There is a show fee, payable at the latest by 6th May 2009. This will be £50 maximum (£25 for full time students), we will try to keep the cost to you as low as possible and we may be able to reduce the fee once the final budget has been set. We will also give you the opportunity to pay this amount in instalments.
Some other things about the show………
The show will take place at Kingston Vale Village Hall, SW15 3RN from 25th May to 30th May 2009. Rehearsals will take place on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 8 – 10pm but you will not be required for every single rehearsal.
During show week our audience are served food & we have our own bar. We are going to try & turn the hall into a 1950’s diner. Each cast member will have at least one duty during show week – this could be anything from washing up, serving our audience, front of house, laying tables etc. Obviously the bigger the cast the less duties we all have to do!
If you are planning to attend the new membership auditions or would like to take part in Smokey Joe’s Cafe and have not yet registered your interest please email me asap at secretary(a)kvods.com
