KVODS adult group were due to perform ‘Hello Dolly!’ at the Arthur Cotterell Theatre in May 2009. Unfortunately the theatre is unable to give us any suitable dates in the first part of the year due to student exams. We have therefore decided to postpone ‘Hello Dolly!’ until November 2009. This will allow us to choose the dates we want and confirm that we can have a big theatre for what will be a very big production. The show will still be directed by Jeff Raggett. We are delighted to announce that we will be performing ‘Smokey Joe’s Café’ (dependent on obtaining rights) in May 2009 at Kingston Vale Village Hall. We are thrilled that Dave Roberts has agreed to both direct & musically direct this production. Both productions will allow for large cast sizes and something for everyone.
The first youth group workshop to start learning some of the dance moves in the July 2009 show will be held on Wednesday 3rd September, 6.30 to 7.30pm.
These workshops will cost £1 for members and £1.50 for non-members.
If you are interested in taking part in the workshops & / or next youth show and will be aged 8 – 16 years in July 2009 please contact me for more details at secretary(a)kvods.com

We are pleased to announce that next year’s show will be July 2009 (dates to be confirmed) and will be the new smash hit 70’s musical ‘Disco Inferno’.This is a fantastic musical and has lots to do for everyone. There is of course lots of disco dancing for those who love to strut their stuff on the dance floor but there is also a lot of singing and both principal & cameo roles for the actors!!All the songs in the show are well known 70’s hits, including ‘Crocodile Rock’, ‘YMCA’, ‘The Winner Takes it All’, ‘I Will Survive’ and Could it Be Magic’ to name but a few!!
We plan to start rehearsing for this show in January 2009 – however we aren’t going to leave you with nothing to do until then! During September – December 2008 we will be holding various workshops so that you can listen to some of the music & learn some of the dance moves that will be included in the show. We are also hoping to have some social events.
If you are aged 8 – 16 years in June 2009 and are interested in attending these workshops & / or taking part in this production we are asking that you email me at secretary(a)kvods.com to register your interest. The workshops are open to everyone, not just members so if any current members have friends who would like to come and join in they are more than welcome!Workshops will cost £1 each for current members of the youth group and £1.50 to non members. We will not be holding membership auditions for new people until January 2009.Please email me to let us know if you would like to take part in what is going to be a very exciting show!! There really is something for everyone and you don’t have to be a dancer to enjoy yourself!
