KVODS is a friendly society based in Kingston Vale, just outside Kingston upon Thames, performing 2 major musical theatre productions per year. New members are always welcome, both for on-stage, and
back/off-stage activities. We rehearse Mondays and Wednesdays, 8pm until 10pm. Please see the links on the right for more information and forthcoming events. We have recently re-formed our youth group for people aged 8 – 16 years. Please see the ’Young KVODS‘ page for more details.
We are over the moon to be able to announce that on 28/07/10 Young KVODS were crowned best youth group at the NDFA All Winners Festival in Thurrock.
They were chosen to perform at the festival after winning best youth group at the Woking Drama Festival last year with the fantastic play Rags to Riches by KVODS member Richard Roberts.
Richard adapted his childrens book of the same name into a stage play specifically for Young KVODS to be able to enter 2 drama festivals last year. We are so thrilled he agreed and hope that the win is the beginning of a great future for both Young KVODS and Rags to Riches.
Thank you to all those who supported us by coming to see the play at Leatherhead Drama Festival / Woking Drama Festival / the awards night at Woking or the All Winners in Thurrock.
Due to a technical issue the youth box office phone has been disconnected and there is no way we can get it reinstated. We are now in discussions with the provider.
So, the new number to book Annie Jr tickets on is: 07982 046210. This number will be active as of 02/07/2010. Please note this is the adult box office phone so when phoning and leaving a message on the voice mail please state whether you are booking for Annie Jr or Jesus Christ Superstar.
Alternatively you can still book tickets on youthboxoffice@kvods.com or www.ticketsource.co.uk/youngkvods (small booking fee applies when bought online)
Please book your tickets asap, the cast are working really hard on the show. Come and see the future generation of KVODS!!
This Friday (2nd July), we are holding our Promise Auction at the Kingston Vale Village Hall at 7:30pm. This promises (pardon the pun!) to be a great social event, where you can bid on a wide range of lots, all in a good cause, accompanied by complimentary nibbles, and a cash bar.
We would love to see as many members, both acting & non-acting, patrons, mums, dads and friends to come and join us for a fun night which will hopefully raise lots of money for the society.
Tickets cost £2 for members & £2.50 for non-members if reserved or bought before the event. Tickets on the door cost £4.
We have some great lots going under the hammer on the evening, including the accommodation for a week’s holiday in Provence, a flight in a light aircraft over Buckinghamshire, self defence classes, massage, and a whole host of other great things to bid for.
We hope to see you there!
We are thrilled to announce that following Young KVODS winning performance of Rags to Riches at the Woking Drama Festival last year they have now been selected to perform at the All Winners Festival. This will be held in Thurrock on 28th July – more details to follow shortly!! Congratulations to the cast, production team and a big well done and thank you to Richard Roberts.
We are very excited to announce that 31 members of Young KVODS will be singing as part of a mass choir at the London O2 arena on 1st February 2011 at 7.30pm. The concert is run by Voice in A Million.
The concert is in support of the British Association for Adopting & Fostering and is backed by many celebrities. Voice in a Million’s mission is to “record thousands of children at events all across the UK and worldwide, to achieve a record-breaking goal of recording ONE MILLION voices on a single recording which will be released worldwide”
